Resumo Sabendo que a deposição atmosférica é a primeira fonte de entrada de nutrientes nos ecossistemas florestais e que a partição de precipitação serve como fonte nutricional principalmente quando há interação com o dossel florestal, o objetivo do presente estudo foi quantificar o aporte de nutrientes na precipitação incidente, precipitação interna e escoamento pelo tronco em um povoamento de Eucalyptus urophylla com exclusão parcial (E) e sem exclusão parcial (WE) da precipitação interna. O experimento está localizado no nordeste do estado do Paraná-Brasil, no município de Telêmaco Borba. O sistema de exclusão parcial de precipitação (E) é formado por um sistema de calhas que conduzem 30% da precipitação interna para fora do experimento. O aporte de nutrientes pela precipitação incidente foi de 55.7 kg ha-1 ano-1, enquanto que a soma dos mesmos na precipitação interna e escoamento pelo tronco foram de 39.8 kg ha-1 ano-1 no tratamento com exclusão (E) e de 64.1 kg ha-1 ano-1 no tratamento sem exclusão (WE). A interação com o dossel florestal enriquece com nutrientes especialmente com os elementos potássio e cloro devido a lixiviação dos tecidos vegetais. A redução do regime hídrico no tratamento com exclusão parcial da precipitação (E) reduziu de forma representativa a entrada de nutrientes. Embora o escoamento pelo tronco represente em média apenas 2.6% do volume de água, ele é responsável por 6.7% da quantidade de nutrientes em relação à precipitação. Portanto, o mesmo não pode ser negligenciado no balanço da ciclagem de nutrientes. Com uma rotação de 7 anos a aplicação de importantes quantidades de fertilizantes podem ser evitados considerando as entradas de 449 e 277 kg ha-1 ano-1.

Abstract Given that atmospheric deposition is the first source of nutrient input into forest ecosystems, and that the precipitation partition serves as a nutritional source mainly when there is an interaction with the forest canopy, the objective of the present study was to quantify the nutrients input into rainfall, throughfall and stemflow in Eucalyptus urophylla stands with partial exclusion (E) and without exclusion (WE) of throughfall. The experiment was conducted in the northeast of the state of Paraná-Brazil, in the municipality of Telêmaco Borba. The partial precipitation exclusion system (E) is formed by a system of gutters that conduct 30% of throughfall out of the experiment. The nutrient input in rainfall was 55.7 kg ha-1 yr-1, while the sum of throughfall and stemflow was 64.1 kg ha-1 yr-1 in treatment (WE) and 39.8 kg ha-1 yr-1 in treatment (E). Interaction with the canopy of the trees enriched the rainfall with nutrients, mainly the elements potassium and chlorine, due to leaching of the vegetal tissues. The reduction of the water treatment system in partial exclusion of precipitation (E) reduced representative nutrient input. Although stemflow represents on average only 2.6% of the water volume, it is responsible for 6.7% of the amount of nutrients in relation to precipitation. Therefore, stemflow cannot be neglected in the balance of nutrient cycling. With a rotation of 7 years, the application of significant amounts of fertilizers can be avoided, considering the inputs of 449 and 277 kg ha-1year-1.

Abstract This study aimed at evaluating the potential of Inga vera (Ingá) and Enterolobium contortisiliquum (Timbaúva) as facilitating species and their species-specific interaction on the restoration of a degraded and protected area in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. We surveyed the natural regeneration occurred under the canopies of 50 I. vera and E. contortisiliquum individuals, considering tree and shrub species with heights ≥ 30 cm and collar diameter ≥ 0.3 cm and < 10 cm. We found 756 individuals under I. vera and 166 individuals under E. contortisiliquum. The study revealed that, despite corresponding to 19% of the total species found, the exotic species comprises 43.6% under I. vera and 11% under E. contortisiliquum. The I. vera presented a more significant number of species and individuals under its canopies when compared to E. contortisiliquum and the reference area.

ABSTRACT We evaluated the nutrient input via incident rainfall in a Eucalyptus dunnii stand in the Brazilian Pampa biome. During the two-year study, we analyzed nutrient concentrations in incident rainfall (P), throughfall via drip (Pi), and stemflow (Et). Ion concentrations (NO2-, NO3-, PO43- , SO42-, Cl-, K+, Ca2+ , and Mg2+) were determined from the aqueous solution, and based on the water volume, the quantity per hectare (kg ha-1) was estimated for each element. Statistical differences observed by ANOVA and separation of means contrasts were subjected to Tukey’s test (5%), adopting a completely randomized design. Higher concentrations of SO4 2- in P; NO3- in Pi solution, and K+, Ca2+ , Mg2+, and Cl- in Et were observed. Greater amounts of nutrients such as Cl-, K+, Ca2+, and SO42 were incorporated via Pi.

A análise ambiental, com base nos processos de morfogênese e pedogênese, possibilita informações importantes para a elaboração de políticas públicas visando o uso e ocupação da paisagem de maneira sustentável. Com isso, objetivou-se identificar os diferentes níveis de vulnerabilidade natural à perda de solo do município de Silveira Martins, RS. Foi elaborado um banco de dados espaciais em um ambiente de Sistemas de Informações Geográficas (SIG) com auxílio do software Spring. O zoneamento da vulnerabilidade natural à perda de solo foi elaborado com base nas informações referentes à declividade, geomorfologia, geologia e solos de acordo com o grau de vulnerabilidade de cada informação, por meio da álgebra de mapas. Para o território municipal de Silveira Martins identificou-se a ocorrência de cinco classes. Destacam-se as unidades estáveis com predomínio dos processos formadores do solo (38,08% da área municipal), e as unidades moderadamente vulneráveis, prevalecendo os processos erosivos (53,67%). As áreas classificadas como moderadamente vulnerável e vulnerável (8,25%), correspondem a áreas com inclinações superiores a 25º e com formação geológica e geomorfológica menos estáveis. Nas unidades em que predominou a vulnerabilidade natural, sugere-se especial atenção em relação ao meio natural e aos agentes que o influenciam, visando boas práticas sociais associadas às políticas ambientais no processo de tomada de decisões econômicas, possibilitando a valorização e proteção do meio natural.

ABSTRACT The environmental analysis, based on morphogenesis and pedogenesis processes, provide important data for the development public policies for the use and occupation landscape sustainably. This research aimed to analyse the vulnerability to natural soil loss of Silveira Martins-RS. Therefore, created a spacial database in a Geographic Information System (GIS) using Spring software. Vulnerability to natural soil loss map was prepared based on information regarding the slope, geomorphology, geology and soils according to the degree of vulnerability of each information through map algebra. Were identified the occurrence of five classes in Silveira Martins municipality, there are the stable units with a predominance of soil forming processes (38.08%), and moderately vulnerable units, prevailing erosion processes (53.67%). Areas classified as moderately vulnerable and vulnerable (8.25%) correspond to areas with slopes greater than 25º and with geological and geomorphological formation less stable. The units in which predominated the natural vulnerability, it is suggested that special attention in relation to the natural environmental and the agents that influence. Thus, it is necessary to use good social practices associated with environmental policies in the process of economic decision, enabling the recovery and protection of the natural environment.

O objetivo deste trabalho foi estimar a biomassa e o carbono orgânico em plantios de Araucaria angustifolia com diferentes idades. Os plantios de Araucaria angustifolia estudados não tiveram intervenções silviculturais relacionadas à desrama, porém, em todos os povoamentos ocorreram práticas de desbaste em diferentes épocas. Nos povoamentos com 32 e 31 anos de idade foram realizados três desbastes. Nos plantios com 30, 29, 25, 24 e 23 anos foram realizados dois desbastes. A determinação de biomassa no campo foi realizada de acordo com o método destrutivo de quantificação, utilizando-se para tanto a amostragem de sete árvores distribuídas aleatoriamente pelo povoamento em cada uma das idades. Os indivíduos foram abatidos, obtendo-se inicialmente as variáveis dendrométricas: DAP, altura total e altura comercial (diâmetro mínimo de 8 cm). O plantio com 23 anos apresentou o maior volume de lenho do fuste (613,02 m³ ha-1), superior aos plantios com 30, 31 e 32 anos (418,41; 520,21 e 518,48 m³ ha-1), respectivamente. Porém, em termos de biomassa do fuste os resultados foram próximos, sendo que o plantio com 23 anos totalizou 138,02 Mg ha-1 e os plantios com 30, 31 e 32 anos somaram 118,77; 128,97 e 155,01 Mg ha-1, respectivamente. Nos plantios de Araucaria angustifolia o estoque total de biomassa e carbono orgânico arbóreo nas diferentes idades consideradas variaram de 60,72 a 289,84 Mg ha-1 e 21,73 a 123,86 Mg ha-1, respectivamente. Ficou evidente que a densidade de plantas e a intensidade de desbaste influenciaram diretamente a biomassa e o carbono estocados.

The objective was to estimate the biomass and organic carbon in Araucaria angustifolia stands with different ages. The Araucaria angustifolia stands studied were not pruning but were thinning in difference ages. In stands of 32 and 31 years-old, were three thinnings. In stands of 30, 29, 25, 24 and 23 years-old, were two thinnings. Biomass avaliation was conducted according to the destructive method, using the sampling of seven trees were randomly distributed in each stand. The plants were harvested, after were obtained the dendrometric variables: DBH, total height and commercial height (minimum diameter of 8 cm). Stand with 23 years had the highest volume of stem wood (613.02 m3 ha-1), followed by 30, 31 and 32 years-old stands (418.41, 520.21 and 518.48 m³ ha-1), respectively. However, in terms of stem biomass the results were similar, 23 years-old stand had 138.02 Mg ha-1 and 30, 31 to 32 years-old totaled 118.77, 128.97 and 155.01 Mg ha-1, respectively. In Araucaria angustifolia stands the total stock biomass and organic carbon in different ages ranged from 60.72 to 289.84 Mg ha-1 and 21.73 to 123.86 Mg ha-1, respectively. Plant densitie and thinning intensity were directly influenced the biomass and carbon stored.

RESUMOEste estudo objetivou quantificar a biomassa, teor e conteúdo de nutrientes na serapilheira acumulada, correlacionando com a precipitação e a temperatura. A amostragem foi realizada em cinco transectos (50 m x 2 m) e coletada com um gabarito (0,25 m x 0,25 m), de maio de 2011 a abril de 2012, bem como separada na fração “outras espécies” (mistura de folhas, galhos, flores e frutos de diversas espécies) e fração “pseudobombax” (material da Pseudobombax aff. campestre). Utilizou-se um delineamento inteiramente casualizado com 12 tratamentos e cinco repetições para biomassa; para teores, foram 12 tratamentos e três repetições. A correlação de Pearson entre os atributos da biomassa com a pluviosidade e a temperatura foi realizada e sua significância, testada. A média acumulada foi de 8.900 kg ha-1, com distribuição ao longo do ano, sendo N, Ca e Fe os nutrientes com maiores acúmulos na serapilheira. Houve correlação entre ambas as frações e variáveis climáticas para os macronutrientes N, P e S e para os micronutrientes Fe e Cu na fração “pseudobombax”.

ABSTRACTThis study aimed to quantify the biomass, content of nutrients in accumulated litter, correlating with rainfall and temperature. Sampling was conducted in five transects (50m x 2m), collected with a template (0.25 m x 0.25 m) from May 2011 to April 2012. Fraction was separated in “other species” (a mixture of leaves, twigs, flowers, fruits of various species), and “pseudobombax” (material of the Pseudobombax aff. campestre). A completely randomized design was used with twelve treatments and five replications for biomass; for contents: twelve treatments and three replications. The Pearson correlation between the attributes of biomass with rainfall and temperature was performed and its significance was tested. The accumulated average was 8,900 kg ha-1, distributed throughout the year, N, Ca and Fe were the nutrients with higher accumulation in the litter. Correlation existed between both fractions and climatic variables for macronutrients: N, P and S, and the micronutrients Fe and Cu in fraction “pseudobombax”.

O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar a densidade da biomassa de raízes finas (DBRF) em povoamentos monoespecíficos e misto de Eucalyptus grandis x E. urophyllana região sul do Brasil. Para isso, instalou-se área experimental no município de Bagé-RS, a qual foi constituída por três tratamentos: 100E (100% de eucalipto); 100A (100% de Acacia mearnsii); 50E:50A (50% de eucalipto + 50% de Acacia mearnsii) em delineamento de blocos ao acaso, com três repetições. Determinou-se a densidade de biomassa de raízes finas (DBRF &le; 2,0mm) aos 8 e 18 meses após o plantio. A amostragem foi realizada com tubo extrator de formato cilíndrico com 7,0 cm de diâmetro. Para cada ponto de amostragem, coletaram-se amostras em quatro profundidades: 0 - 5; 5 - 10; 10 - 20 e 20 - 30 cm. Verificou-se que a densidade de biomassa de raízes finas (DBRF) aos 8 meses de idade, nos diferentes sistemas de cultivo, possui o mesmo comportamento para a ocupação das diferentes camadas do solo, atingindo uma projeção máxima de 125 cm de distância em relação ao tronco da árvore. Já, aos 18 meses após o plantio, verificamos que no cultivo monoespecífico de acácia-negra a densidade de raízes foi superior em relação ao monocultivo e plantio misto de eucalipto. A maior densidade de biomassa de raízes finas encontra-se na camada de 5 a 10 cm de profundidade, nas proximidades do tronco da árvore e na linha de plantio, seguida pela diagonal e entrelinha de plantio. O entendimento do crescimento e distribuição da biomassa radicular nos estágios iniciais de crescimento de povoamentos florestais pode ajudar na decisão de práticas silviculturais a serem adotadas a fim de assegurar uma utilização mais eficiente dos recursos do solo.

The aim of this study was to evaluate fine root biomass density (FRBD) in mixed and monospecific stands of Eucalyptus grandis x E. urophylla and Acacia mearnsii(black wattle) in Bagé-RS (Southern Brazil). An experimental trial was installed with three treatments: 100% Eucalyptus (100E); 100% Acacia mearnsii (100A); 50% Eucalyptus + 50% Acacia mearnsii (50E:50A). The trial was carried using a randomized block design with three replicates. The fine root (&le; 2.0mm) biomass density was determined 8 and 18 months after planting the trees. Soil samples were collected, with a cylindrical extractor auger (d = 7.0 cm), from four depths (0 - 5, 5 - 10, 10 - 20 and 20 - 30 cm) at each sampling point. After 8 months, the FRBD distribution was the same in both species and in all soil layers, reaching the maximum projection at 125 cm from the tree trunk. After 18 months, the root biomass density was higher in the monospecific black wattle stand than in the monospecific eucalyptus stand and the mixed stand. The fine root biomass density was highest in the 5 - 10 cm layer close to the trunk, for the planting row spacing, the planting line and the diagonals between two planting lines. Knowledge about fine root growth and distribution in soil at initial stages of stand development may help in decision-making for intensive forestry, thus ensuring more efficient use of soil resources.

A disponibilidade de nutrientes para futuros plantios em um sítio florestal está relacionada principalmente à, intensidade de colheita aplicada. Objetivou-se, com este estudo, avaliar as implicações nutricionais causadas pelas diferentes intensidades de colheita da biomassa de um povoamento de Eucalyptus urophylla x Eucalyptus globulus com dez anos de idade, em Eldorado do Sul - RS. A avaliação das implicações nutricionais conforme a intensidade de colheita florestal foi analisada levando em consideração: o estoque de nutrientes entre o sistema solo - planta; os efeitos da colheita dos diferentes componentes da biomassa acima do solo na remoção dos nutrientes; o número de rotações e a taxa de remoção de nutrientes conforme o sistema de colheita utilizado e o coeficiente de utilização biológica dos nutrientes. Com a colheita da madeira com casca, todos os nutrientes teriam uma remoção superior a 45% de sua quantidade acumulada na biomassa total acima do solo. Entretanto, removendo apenas a madeira comercial, que apresenta o maior coeficiente de utilização de nutrientes, a porcentagem de remoção para os nutrientes, com exceção do Cu e Zn, seria inferior a 50%, chegando até 10% no caso do Ca, em relação ao total contido na biomassa. O fósforo e o cálcio poderão ser os principais nutrientes a tornarem-se limitantes na produtividade nas próximas rotações, pois as estimativas de rotações potenciais estão próximas a um, quando realizada a colheita da madeira com casca

Nutrients available for future plantation is mainly related to the harvest system applied. Based on this, this study aimed to assess the nutritional implications caused by difference biomass harvest intensities in the Eucalyptus urophylla x Eucalyptus globulus 10 years-old in Eldorado do Sul - RS. Nutritional implications assessment was analyzed and taken into account: nutrients balance between soil-plant system; harvest effects of the different aboveground components in the nutrients removal; rotation numbers and nutrients removal rate in relation to harvest system used and nutrients biological utilization rate. With the harvest of wood with the bark all the nutrients removal would suffer more than 45% of the total amount accumulated in aboveground biomass. However, removing just the wood, which has the highest nutrients utilization rate, the nutrients removed percentage, except by Cu and Zn, will be less than 50% and up to 10% in the case of Ca in relation to the total biomass contained. Phosphorus and calcium can be the main nutrients which become limited in the next rotation productivity, because the potential rotation estimates are close to one, when wood with bark are harvested.

Objetivou-se com o presente estudo avaliar a deposição de serapilheira e nutrientes em plantio de Eucalyptus urophylla × Eucalyptus globulus, em Eldorado do Sul-RS. Foram alocadas sistematicamente quatro parcelas de 20 m × 20 m, cada uma com quatro coletores de serapilheira de 1 m². A serapilheira foi coletada quinzenalmente, entre janeiro/2007 e dezembro/2010. A produção de serapilheira foi crescente, com o aumento da idade do povoamento, sendo 6,9 Mg ha-1 aos seis e 8,5 Mg ha-1 aos nove anos. A fração folhas correspondeu, em média, a 66,9% da serapilheira total, seguida pelos galhos finos (14,7%), miscelânea (10,5%) e galhos grossos (7,9%). A deposição apresentou padrão sazonal, sendo maior no período de aumento da temperatura do ar. A fração folhas foi responsável por maior parte do retorno de nutrientes via serapilheira, variando de 58,2 a 81,8% da quantidade de Cu e N, respectivamente.

In the present study, we aimed to evaluate the deposition of nutrients and litter in Eucalyptus urophylla × Eucalyptus globulus stands, in the municipality of Eldorado do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul state, Brazil. Four plots (20 m × 20 m) were systematically allocated and four 1 m² litter traps were installed in each plot. Litterfall was collected from the traps fortnightly between January 2006 and December 2010. Litter deposition increased proportionally to stand age: 6.9 Mg ha-1 at six and 8.5 Mg ha-1 at nine years of age. Leaf fraction represented 66.9% of the total litter on average, followed by twigs (14.7%), miscellaneous (10.5%), and thick branches (7.9%). Litter deposition showed seasonal behavior, increasing as the air temperature increased. The leaf fraction produced the highest nutrient release through litter, with average values of 58.2 and 81.8% for Cu and N, respectively.

Este estudo teve como objetivo avaliar a disponibilização de nutrientes via decomposição da serapilheira foliar, em um plantio de híbrido de Eucalyptus urophylla × Eucalyptus globulus em Eldorado do Sul-RS. Foi utilizada a técnica de litter bags para a avaliação da decomposição. Ao todo, foram utilizados 648 litter bags, com coletas mensais de 18 amostras, durante o período de 36 meses. A perda de massa foliar apresentou correlação positiva com a concentração de nutrientes, indicando que, quanto maior a perda de massa, maior a concentração dos elementos no folhedo remanescente. A decomposição da serapilheira foliar apresentou inicialmente imobilização de P, Fe, Mn e Zn, e disponibilização dos demais nutrientes. O P tornou-se disponível a partir do segundo ano, enquanto o Mn e o Zn, somente a partir do terceiro ano.

This study had the objective to evaluate the nutrients release through leaf litter decomposition in Eucalyptus urophylla × Eucalyptus globulus hybrid plantation, Eldorado do Sul-RS. We used the litterbags techniques to assess the decomposition. We used 648 litterbags, with 18 samples collected monthly during 36 months. Mass loss leaf showed positive correlation with nutrients concentration, indicating that the higher mass loss, higher the nutrients concentration in litter remaining. Litter leaf decay initially showed P, Fe, Mn and Zn immobilization and release of the others, in the second year occurred P release and in the third year occurred Mn and Zn release, with Fe exception.

RESUMO Este estudo teve como objetivo determinar o estoque de nutrientes em povoamentos monoespecíficos e mistos de Eucalyptus urograndis e Acacia mearnsii em consórcio com Zea mays. A determinação da quantidade de nutrientes das espécies florestais foi realizada nos tratamentos: 100E (100% de eucalipto); 100A (100% de acácia-negra) e 50E:50A (50% de eucalipto + 50% de acácia-negra). Já, para o milho foi realizada em todos os tratamentos (100E; 100A; 50E:50A; 75E:25A - 75% de eucalipto + 25% de acácia- negra e 25E:75A - 25% de eucalipto + 75% de acácia-negra). O delineamento adotado foi de blocos ao acaso com três repetições. A magnitude do estoque de nutrientes na biomassa total do sistema agrossilvicultural foi: N > K > Ca > Mg > P > S, para os macronutrientes, e Mn > Fe > Zn > B > Cu, para os micronutrientes. Devido à grande exportação de nutrientes pela colheita da espiga do milho, devem-se manter os resíduos culturais nos sistemas agrossilviculturais e fazer reposição nutricional, principalmente de P, N, K, S e Zn, em cultivos seguintes, em decorrência da grande quantidade que é exportada pela extração da espiga, a qual chega a 75,3; 60,6; 59,9; 55,8 e 53,8%, respectivamente, em relação ao total estocado na biomassa agrícola.

ABSTRACT This study aimed to determine the nutrient pool in monospecific and mixed stands of Eucalyptus urograndis and Acacia mearnsii in a consortium with Zea mays.The amount determination of nutrients of forest species was carried out in the treatments: 100E (100% of eucalypt); 100A (100% of black wattle) and 50E:50A (50% of eucalypt + 50% of black-wattle). On the other hand, for corn, it was carried out in all treatments (100E; 100A, 50E:50A; 75E:25A - 75% of eucalypt + 25% black-wattle and 25E:75A - 25% of eucalypt + 75% of black wattle). The experiment was conducted in a randomized block with three replications. The magnitude of the nutrient pool in the agrossilvicultural systems biomass was: N> K > Ca > Mg > P > S, for macronutrients, and Mn > Fe > Zn > B > Cu, for micronutrients. Due to the great export of nutrients through the corn harvest, residues should be kept and it is necessary to make a nutritional reposition, mainly with P, N, K, S and Zn in the following crops, because of the higher amount that are exported with the extraction of the corn cob, which reaches 75.3; 60.6; 59.9; 55.8 e 53.8%, respectively, in relation to the total stocked in the biomass.

Objetivou-se, neste trabalho, determinar o estoque de serapilheira acumulada, sua decomposição e a taxa de disponibilização de nutrientes em um plantio híbrido de Eucalyptus urophylla Ã- Eucalyptus globulus, em Eldorado do Sul-RS. Foram demarcadas quatro parcelas (20 m Ã- 20 m) e, em cada uma delas, foram coletadas estacionalmente (entre março de 2007 e dezembro de 2010) quatro amostras de forma aleatória. A quantidade de serapilheira estocada sobre o solo foi, em média, de 14,0 Mg ha-1.O coeficiente de decomposição foi de 0,54, com tempo médio para a renovação (1/K) de 1,86 anos e tempo médio para decomposição de 50 e 95% da serapilheira em 1,29 e 5,59 anos, respectivamente. O potássio apresentou o maior coeficiente de devolução (0,52), seguido por B > Mg > S = Mn > P > N = Ca > Zn > Cu; consequentemente, o potássio apresentou menor tempo médio de residência na serapilheira (0,91 anos).

In this study, we aimed to determine the litter accumulation stock, its decomposition and nutrient release in an Eucalyptus urophylla Ã- Eucalyptus globulus hybrid plantation in the municipality of Eldorado do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul state. Four plots were demarcated (20 m Ã- 20 m) and four samples were seasonally sampled (from March 2007 to December 2010) at random. Average litter accumulation on soil was 14.0 Mg ha-1. Litter accumulated showed 0.54 decomposition coefficient with average renewal time (1/K) of 1.86 years and average time to litter decomposition of 50, and 95% of litter in 1.29 and 5.59 years, respectively. Potassium presented the highest turnover (0.52), followed by B > Mg > S = Mn > P > N = Ca > Zn > Cu and consequently the lowest average residence time in the litter (0.91 years).

A produção continuada de madeira em plantios comerciais exige conhecimento do processo de ciclagem de nutrientes, que envolve, entre outros aspectos, a produção e a decomposição de serapilheira. Assim, neste estudo, objetivou-se verificar a influência das variáveis climáticas na produção de serapilheira e de seus componentes, além de avaliar a taxa de decomposição de serapilheira em um povoamento de Eucalyptus urophylla x E. globulus maidenii. Para a execução do estudo, foram instaladas 4 parcelas de 20 m x 20 m, em cada uma foram instalados 4 coletores para as frações folhas, galhos finos e miscelânea da serapilheira e 3 subparcelas para a coleta da fração galhos grossos. O tecido vegetal coletado foi utilizado para o cálculo da deposição e da correlação existente entre variáveis climáticas e deposição. As variáveis climáticas utilizadas, com base mensal, foram temperatura média, temperatura máxima média, temperatura mínima média, precipitação pluviométrica, umidade relativa média, velocidade média do vento, evapotranspiração e radiação solar média, ambas fornecidas por uma estação experimental. Já, para a avaliação da decomposição da serapilheira foram coletadas aleatoriamente 4 amostras quadradas de 0,25 m de lado em cada parcela, utilizadas para a determinação do coeficiente de decomposição (K), meia vida (t0,5) e tempo de decomposição de 95% da serapilheira (t0,95). A produção mensal de serapilheira foi fracamente correlacionada com variáveis climáticas e apresentou média anual de 7,4 Mg ha-1, sendo composta predominantemente pela fração folhas (60%). A decomposição de serapilheira foi considerada lenta.

The sustainable wood production in commercial plantations requires knowledge of the nutrient cycling process, which also involves the production and decomposition of litter. This study verified the influence of climatic variables on litter production and t evaluated the rate of leaf litter decomposition in a stand of Eucalyptus urophylla x E. globulus maidenii. There were installed 4 plots of 20 m x 20 m, in each plot four litter traps to collect leaves were placed, thin branches and miscellaneous, beside this, each plot received 3 areas for coarse branches collection. The litter collected was used to calculate the deposition and the correlation between climate variables and deposition. The climatic variables used, on a monthly basis, were average temperature, average maximum temperature, average minimum temperature, rainfall, relative humidity, average wind speed, average solar radiation and average evapotranspiration, both supplied by an experimental station. For evaluation of the litter decomposition rate, four square samples of 0.25 m side in each plot were randomly collected and used for determining the decay coefficient (K), half life (t0,5 ) and decomposition time of 95% of litter (t0,95 ). The monthly litter production was weakly correlated with climatic variables and the annual production was 7.4 Mg ha-1, with leaves as the major fraction (60%). The litter decomposition rate was considered slow.

RESUMO O estudo teve por objetivo comparar o teor de nutrientes das diferentes espécies envolvidas em plantios monoespecíficos e mistos de Eucalyptus urograndis e Acacia mearnsii em consórcio com Zea mays no município de Bagé, RS. A determinação dos teores de nutrientes das espécies florestais foi realizada nos tratamentos: 100e (100 % de eucalipto + milho); 100A (100 % de acácia-negra + milho) e 50e:50A (50 % de eucalipto + 50 % de acácia-negra + milho), e do milho nos tratamentos 100e; 100A; 50e:50A; 75e:25A (75 % de eucalipto + 25 % de acácia-negra + milho) e 25e:75A (25 % de eucalipto + 75 % de acácia-negra + milho). O delineamento adotado foi de blocos ao acaso com três repetições. A amostragem das espécies florestais foi realizada tendo como referência a árvore média de cada parcela, baseada no diâmetro a altura do peito (DAP), amostrando-se três árvores por tratamento, aos seis meses de idade. No interior de todos os tratamentos e suas repetições, alocou-se uma subparcela, com 3,0 m de comprimento por três fileiras de milho como largura, onde se fracionou as plantas em colmo, folha, grãos, sabugo e palha. Com exceção do Ca, que está mais concentrado na fração casca e do Mg e B na casca e folhas, os demais nutrientes no Eucalyptus urograndis, tanto em monocultivo como em plantio misto, apresentam maior teor apenas nas folhas. Já na Acacia mearnsii, todos os teores de nutrientes são superiores nas folhas. O componente grão do milho possui os maiores teores de nitrogênio e fósforo, já a palha e o sabugo registram os maiores teores de potássio e o componente folha possui os maiores teores dos demais nutrientes. As espécies florestais não influenciam nitidamente nos teores de nutrientes nos componentes da biomassa aérea do milho.

ABSTRACT The study had as objective compare the nutrients content in the different species involved in monospecific and mixed stands of Eucalyptus urograndis and Acacia mearnsii and in a consortium with Zea mays. The determination for forest species nutrients concentration, the treatments 100e (100 % eucalyptus + maize); 100A (100 % black-wattle + maize) and 50e:50A (50 % eucalyptus + 50 % black-wattle + maize), and in the maize were done in treatments 100e; 100A, 50e:50A; 75e:25A (75 % eucalyptus + 25 % black-wattle + maize) and 25e:75A (25 % eucalyptus + 75 % black-wattle + maize). The experimental design was a randomized block design with three replications. Forests species sampling was made in average tree in each plot, based on diameter at breast height (DBH), in three trees six month-old per treatment. Within all treatments and your replicates, installed one subplot with long 3.0 m by three corn-rows as wide, where the plants were harvested in stem, leaf, grain, cob and straw. With the exception of Ca, which was more concentrated in the bark fraction and Mg and B in the bark and leaves, the other nutrients in Eucalyptus urograndis, so in monoculture much in mixed stands, contained higher concentration just in leaves. The grain component has the highest concentrations of nitrogen and phosphorus, as straw and cob have the highest potassium concentration and the leaf component has the largest concentrations of other nutrients. The forest species did not influence significantly the levels of nutrients in components of aboveground biomass of maize.

Em razão da escassez de informações sobre adubação em acácia-negra, no presente estudo, objetivou-se avaliar o crescimento de plantas de acácia-negra em função de diferentes níveis de adubação com nitrogênio, fósforo e potássio, após seis anos da implantação. O delineamento utilizado foi de blocos ao acaso, com distribuição trifatorial (doses de fertilizantes). Avaliou-se a altura total (m), diâmetro a altura do peito (DAP) (cm) e volume de madeira com casca (m³ ha-1). A acácia-negra apresentou resposta positiva e significativa, de crescimento às adubações com N e P (interação) e ausência de resposta ao K. Para a obtenção do máximo crescimento da acácia-negra, para a condição edafoclimática estudada, deve-se utilizar a dose máxima de nitrogênio (40,0 kg ha-1 de N) e 78,9 kg ha-1 de fósforo, não sendo necessária a adição de potássio via fertilizantes.

Due to the lack of information about Black-wattle fertilization, this study evaluated black-wattle plants growth in response to different fertilization levels of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium six years after implantation. The statistical design used was a randomized blocks with trifatorial distribution. Total height (m), diameter at breast height (DBH) (cm) and stem volume with bark (m³ ha-1) were evaluated. Black-wattle showed a positive and significant growth response to N and P (interaction) fertilizations and absence for K. m To obtain the maximum development of black-wattle, for the soil and climate condition studied, it is required the use of the maximum dose of nitrogen (40.0 kg ha-1 N) and 78.9 kg ha-1 phosphorus, not requiring the addition of potassium.
